What determines sound quality? |
|
Actually the stepping stones to good sound are quite simple. First, you need a good quality sound source. The easiest way to get this is to go for the largest (least compressed) size you can support, and use the best file format. We believe 224 kbps AAC files are more than adequate. Second, you need a good machine to playback the files – such as your iPod. Third, good speakers or earphones. If you want a quick fix for better sound quality replace those white earbuds with something better. A few pounds spent here will yield an instant boost. The same applies to a home audio system. Finally – you need to have ears in a good condition. That can mean the surroundings in which you’re listening (your living room will always be better than a train) or physically your state of audio health. The last two – speakers and your ears – are highly subjective, so it pays to try several different speakers or headphones to find the best fit for your preferences.
