About podServe

Hello - I'm Jeff Underwood, and I'm Mr podServe.
The idea for podServe came to me in 2003, the summer my son graduated from University. He thought he'd treat himself to an iPod.

I was aware of iPods, but hadn't understood their potential. 10,000 tracks was a mind numbing amount of music, and my son was about to spend hundreds of pounds on one. Yet he didn't know how to get his CDs onto the iPod.

When I looked into how you load music I found it time consuming, and more difficult than I expected. For many people it would be too boring and complicated. I thought, I could do that.

Over the next months I toyed with the idea, spoke to friends, visited stores selling iPods, listened to the inadequate advice being given. A process was designed, tested and in February 2004, podServe was launched.

I'd like to say "we lived happily ever after."
The method has changed beyond recognition, mainly to accommodate the volumes of CDs. Personally
collecting music became the way forward when collections went over 100 CDs. Talking to clients has not only helped me do the job they want, but has also developed podServe. We've added extra features in response to client requests - talking books, album art, scanning photos, converting videos and most recently Data Grooming.

Although the majority of our clients own iPods we've moved into high-end audio systems such as Sonos, iMerge and Opus.

What about me?
I started in the computer industry in the late 70s. I have a lot of experience with Macs and PCs, I enjoy music. podServe is a natural mix of the two.

Why podServe?
Service is what we're about - picking up your CDs in the evening, being there out of hours, taking pride in what we do. We'll meet (over the phone first, then face to face), get to understand what you want to achieve. I talk plain English, not technobabble. I'm proud of what we do, I know we do a great job.
